Say “Yes” To Life

Say “Yes” To Life

Aliveness! Wellness! Openheartedness! Joy! Peace! Well-being! Passion! Prosperity! Abundance! This is what it means to say “Yes” to life. It is a feast fit for a king or a queen. A table set just for you.

Yet many of us choose to view the feast from afar, afraid to partake of the feast. We say we want it but choose instead to live a life of lack, illness, disease, anger, frustration, victimhood, blame, and shame. We fight off our depression, anxiety, and fear to live a life of low energy. Never having enough time or energy to do that which we believe will make us happy. We want to say “Yes” to life, yet somehow we can’t quite seem to get there.

I am sure many readers believe they are already committed to saying “Yes” to life. Yet, I believe we hold back and do not realize we are doing so. The perceptual difference lies in what it means to say “Yes” to life. Saying “Yes” to life means living fully in the present moment with all its ups and downs. This means feeling the good along with the bad. Our feeling nature is a gift given to us yet many choose to not feel. Men are taught not to cry and women are taught that to express anger is wrong. We stuff down our feelings and live a life that can be dull and void of the richness of life.

To avoid feeling the “bad” feelings, many people medicate themselves. Or they adopt other addictive behavior patterns that block feelings. Behavior patterns such as eating when not hungry, smoking, watching excessive TV, excessive sex, drug addictions, addictions to work, and the list goes on.

Studies indicate that many of us are unhappy. We strive for happiness and try all sorts of means to get there. We search for it, yearn for it, work for it. But where is “there” and why don’t we seem to ever get “there?” “There” never seems to arrive. Even if we do get “there,” when “there” is taken away from us; our happiness disappears.

To summarize the state of affairs of most people, they are either trying to get somewhere they think will make them happy or try to suppress something that makes them unhappy. They are either running to something or running from something.

All of this is because we choose to avoid feeling our feelings. Our current state of being is unsatisfactory. Yet to feel is to be alive. That means we need to feel the “negative” feelings as well.

Because our feelings make us uncomfortable, we hide from them. These feelings originate from our past and lay dormant in our subconscious mind. Yet they affect every part of our being and behavior. It is said that the subconscious mind controls up to 95% of our behavior. This is why we react angrily to seemingly small issues. It is not our conscious mind that wants to be angry but our subconscious mind acting out some repressed emotion. If we clear the emotion, our current behavior will change. Or said simply: we need to feel it to heal it.

It is also said that 95% of the programming of the subconscious mind is formed by the time we are seven years old. In effect, we are bringing the past with us into the present. When we do this, we cannot be fully present and cannot say “Yes” to life. It is simply impossible. These dormant energies are frozen in time. It is the frozen energy of the past that keeps us from feasting at the king or queen’s table.

Because the energies within lie dormant, they are unavailable for life. This makes us tired and ill; angry when we wish to be happy. It confuses us and causes us to act out. Much of the drama in our life can be traced back to these energetic blockages. It is impossible to say “Yes” to life when much of your life force is bound to the past and locked in your emotional body.

The simplest way to free this untapped potential is to bring your awareness into the present and reclaim, as Eckart Tolle says, The Power of Now. The most powerful way to bring you to the present moment is to breathe consciously. The power of presence through the power of conscious breathing can transform your life. It completely alters the underlying energy that has been bound within you. There is no other way to do this so simply and powerfully.

In fact, the emotions buried in your subconscious mind, inhibit your breathing. This means you cannot breathe fully because of suppressed emotional content. The body cannot live but minutes without air, yet 90% of the population is only getting 50% of the air they are capable of receiving because of suppressed emotional content. You cannot possibly say “Yes” to life, when half of your life force is imprisoned within your subconscious mind.

To bind or imprison anything takes resources. In this case it is your energy that is being consumed not for life but to keep emotions suppressed. This means less is available to fight illness and fatigue. There is less for creativity; there is less for your partner, your children, work, and play. Your life is less because your energy body is living in the past.

It does not have to be this way. Free the past. Feel the feelings. Come into the present moment. Breathe into life once again. There are many tools you can learn that when coupled with conscious breathing can easily and simply free the energy of the past. Once freed you are free. Free to feel, free to be, free to live. Free to say “YES” to life once again.
