Nia Trainings – Discover what your body and mind can do

People all around the world are practicing the Nia Technique. People come to it for all sorts of different reasons–to get in shape; because they love to dance; to find their center; because they hate the gym; to get their mind moving; you name it.

And the thing about Nia is that it’s good for all of those things, which of course, was exactly what founders Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas had in mind when they created it.

Nia is comprised of 52 moves that draw from dance, marital arts and healing arts. They are all designed with “the body’s way” in mind. In other words, Nia leads you to move the way your body was designed to move.

One of the other exceptional components of Nia is that the practice consists of so much more than just fitness classes. Yes, you certainly can opt for classes alone and vastly improve your body, mind, and spirit in doing so.

But, if you want to take it one, two, three, or more steps further, Nia has a way for practitioners to do that. Much like in the marital arts, Nia offers a series of belts from White to Black.

There’s a misnomer, however, going around about these belts. Rumor has it that they are really just for people who want to teach Nia. But nothing could be further from the truth.

Yes, you do need a White Belt (and a Livelihood Membership) in order to teach. And, yes, if you want to improve as a teacher, obtaining all of your belts is an excellent idea.

Whether you are a four-times-a-month or four-times-a-week type of Nia person, the belt trainings can help you hone your skills and deepen your practice more than you can imagine.

The Nia White Belt Training will open your eyes to all of the little things that you don’t have time to focus on in a one-hour class. And once you take your White Belt, Nia becomes a whole new animal. A wonderful, curious, exciting animal that you can’t wait to tangle with.

Nia also offers the 52 Moves Training and the Five Stages Training that are, again, great for those who want to teach, but equally as good for those who want to master the technique and get as much out of Nia as they can.

In a Nia Technique training you will explore physical sensation through movement, music, anatomy, science’ and philosophy. It’s a powerful opportunity to delve into the Principles of Nia, including The Joy of Movement; Awareness; The Joy of Being in Relationship; Form and Freedom; and Choice and Manifestation.

In just one week, you’ll have the opportunity to transform yourself, focusing on sensation, the way the way the body works, and how we feel living and moving and dancing in it.

Whether you’ve taken zero Nia classes or a thousand, training in Nia is just like training in so many other things. You can certainly do without it. But you’ll never know what you’re capable of until you explore a Nia Training for fascinating body and life education.
