No Drugs of Any Kind

No Drugs of Any Kind is the eighth key to total freedom found in the book, “The 10 Keys to Total Freedom” (www.AccessDave.com/10Keys) by Gary Douglass and Dr. Dain Heer.

A drug is anything that diminishes or cuts off your awareness in any way, shape or form. A drug makes you less aware.

The purpose of Access Consciousness® is to create greater awareness, make you more aware. So ingesting anything that cuts off that awareness is cutting you off from you. It becomes where you lose control of your body and something else can use your body.

Do you remember the song “Love is the Drug”, by Roxy Music? Or, that might be a little bit before your time. Love has so many definitions to different people and sometimes that definition is a fantasy. It could be a fantasy that erases consciousness.

In this reality, (mostly) love isn’t about creating more awareness, it is about some fantasy projection that we have about what love is. Maybe something we learned by watching other people and taking on their points of view.

People can use food, alcohol, extreme workouts or meditation as a drug. If it cuts off your awareness, it is a drug. What if you could choose to be aware of everything? What if you could be totally conscious of every bite you take? Totally aware of the taste, the texture of the food? What if you could eat from a space of what your body actually desires?

How about smoking cigarettes? Do the people who are addicted to cigarettes pick up a cigarette every time they are about to be aware? Are they trying to stop that awareness?

This isn’t about whether or not you are violating this key. It’s about the awareness you’re cutting off or avoiding.

You can have cigarettes or alcohol to cut-off your awareness, or you can use it for enjoyment. It is in what you choose to do with it. Ask yourself, “What am I using this for?”

Some people use drugs because they believe it enhances their creativity. A question you could ask, “Would my creation be greater if I hadn’t used the drugs?”

What would it take to invite you to an even greater possibility? Drugs take you out of the present. What would your life be like if you were more present? What could you create from that space of greater possibilities? What else is possible here?

Another reason people use drugs and alcohol is because they can’t deal with all of the awareness. My father was extremely aware and I was able to see how he cut-off his awareness with alcohol. He wasn’t given the tools to process all of that awareness. His tool was alcohol. What if he was picking-up on all of the thoughts, feelings and emotions of all of the people around him? He didn’t know what to do with all of that.

What would it take for you to step into a greater level of awareness and capability? What if you could have more of the space of being you?
