WHFR “Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair”, March 19, Dearborn
In 2009, WHFR, the non-commercial, student-staffed campus radio station broadcast from Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn, hosted its first "Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair". Now in its eighth year, the staff is thrilled to once again host the Festival on Saturday, March 19!
Body-workers of various modalities including massage, reiki and bio-mat facilitators, as well as speakers offering presentations on Bach-Flower remedies, numerology, and how our thinking impacts the world will be part of the day's events. Vendor offerings will include readings, coffee and tea, jewelry, and hand-crafted soap for the Festival's guests. With a variety of instruments and genres, talented musicians will share their gifts throughout the day. Sandwiches, salads, pastries, snacks and beverages will generously be donated by local merchants and will be available for a nominal charge. If you need a meditative break from the action, take a walk in the labyrinth room.
For the first time, the Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair is partnering with Helping Hands Food Pantry, which operates out of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church. The pantry's policy is to supply food on an emergency basis. Last year, Helping Hands assisted 358 households (830 adults and 444 children with 11,962 food items!).
Admission is $5, but is reduced by $1 if you bring in non-perishable food items. Thank you in advance for helping others! In addition, students with valid school identification are admitted free of charge!
We're looking for businesses and non-profits in the community to be part of the Fair. We'd love to have you be part of the Fair with a booth, program, swag-bag advertising, or perhaps by making a donation to our tin-can raffle or food court.
As we celebrate the success of entering into the Fair's eighth year, we invite you to join us!
We look forward to seeing you Saturday, March 19, 11am – 5pm, at Henry Ford Community College, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn. To be part of the Fair, contact Lynn at 313-605-4206, or Mike at 313-483-2555, or email [email protected] for more information.
