Thirty days, three days, three minutes! You can go without food for thirty days. You can go without water for about three days. Stop breathing for more than three minutes and you die! Breath is Life! Simple and profound!
The Ancients Knew – Secrets about the conscious control of the breath. Many mystery schools taught the path to happiness was through the breath. They said that through the breath we receive Prana or Life Force. Prana is an energy force that comes to us through the earth, the sun, the air, and the food we eat. The greatest impact is through the breath. Approximately 70% of our Life Force is generated through the air we breathe. Everything about our life is affected by it. Cut off the Prana and you cut off Life. Enhance the flow of Prana and Life is healthy, expansive and joyful.
Since most people are only getting about half the air their bodies are capable of receiving, they are denying up to 35% of the life force that is available to them. It affects us not only at the physical level of the body, but also at the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels as well. Over time this does not bode well for a person’s health, well-being, energy levels, attitude, vitality or passion for life. It even dampens our connection to Source.
Good News – A restricted breath pattern can be reversed once you learn how to open your breath and let go. Because 70% of the Life Force comes to us through our breathing, we can dramatically and profoundly impact our well-being by changing the way we breathe. Because Transformational Breathing affects us on all four levels of our being, it is one of the most effective ways to change the way we breathe.
Transformational Breathing helps us access additional Prana by introducing a specific breath pattern. It helps clear mental patterns, limiting beliefs, attitudes, and stories that keep us small. Transformational Breathing frees up these trapped emotional energies, many of which have been suppressed for years. This creates space in our energy body for an opening into the higher subconscious. In effect, we have gotten out of our mind, let go of our story and moved into our heart. We can now fill this space with the gifts of Spirit.
Abraham – Ester Hicks through the teachings of Abraham says that Source is always streaming its good to us. We are just denying it by trying to row upstream. Metaphysically this is represented in the body by a restricted breath pattern. We actually deny our good by suppressing old traumatic energies. When we let go and trust Source, we are in the flow and life becomes easier and more joyful. This too is reflected in a person’s breath pattern. When a person’s breath pattern is open, easy and flowing; their life is also easy, open and flowing. Things become effortless and joy becomes a state of being.
At this level of opening, we can consciously connect with the higher aspects of ourselves and become more aware of other dimensions. Many people report having mystical experiences in their breath sessions. These experiences easily lead to a sense of joy, peace, and an inner knowing that is simply profound and beyond expression.
The Gifts of Spirit – A continued conscious breathing practice can result in many gifts:
• Increased energy
• Increased overall general health
• Decreased stress
• Increased clarity
• Improved creativity
• Openhearted connection to others
• Stronger connection to Source
• Ability to express spiritual gifts
• Feelings of peace
• Spontaneous moments of joy
The benefits of conscious breathing are profound. I have personally experienced noticeable improvements in each of these areas of my life. What would your life be like if you could have even one of these gifts? What would your relationships be like? What price would you be willing to pay? You can have it if you want it. It is yours for the asking. All you need to do is breathe. Open your breath; open to life. Change your breath, change your life. It really is that simple and profound.
