During this time of year we focus on helping others. We live by the motto it is better to give than to receive. We help others by raising money for charities, food for food banks, cell phones for soldiers etc. It is difficult to focus on helping others when we are experiencing pain ourselves, especially in our hands.
Many people experience wrist pain from excessive computer use, sewing, knitting, craft working, golfing and their job. Sixty percent of on the job injuries involve the wrist and hands. Our hands are often neglected.
The conventional approach usually overlooks one of the sources of the wrist and hand pain. Irritated nerves are the hidden culprit. The nerves become irritated due to entrapment along the nerve pathway from the neck, through the arm and wrist, down to the hands. Nerves can become so irritated that the hands lose strength.
Nerve irritation from entrapment causes muscles to spasm, and form pinpoint areas of extreme tenderness. People experience this as pain throughout the arm. There are natural, gentle and effective ways to resolve this by relieving the pressure on the irritated nerves and reducing the muscle pain.
Years ago the standard treatment for wrist injuries was surgery. Statistically, two years after surgery many of the symptoms returned. Now surgery is not recommended as often. Conventionally there are fewer options to help people suffering with wrist and hand pain.
Alternative health care has options that can literally provide a helping hand for those suffering with wrist and hand pain. Pain relievers and muscle relaxants cannot reduce physical nerve pressure. Everyone can remember a time when they had a pebble in their shoe. The pebble caused irritation to the nerves of the feet, resulting in pain. The simple solution is to remove the pebble, the source of the nerve irritation. This is exactly what gentle and effective chiropractic does.
Supporting the hands and joints nutritionally, as well as physically realigning the joints helps reduce pain, inflammation and swelling. By reducing nervous system irritation, resetting muscles and providing nutritional support, the body can return back to a pain free state. Being pain free allows people to focus back on helping others, especially during the holiday season.
A recent change in Michigan law allows chiropractors the opportunity to actually examine and treat the extremities and assist you with hand and foot pain. Check with your chiropractor to see what treatments they have available.
In the Spirit of giving we are donating our services to help others by offering new patients a consultation, evaluation and report in exchange for a donation to our local food bank. Anyone need a helping hand? Help us help you, while you help others.
Happy Holidays to Everyone!
