If you want to lose weight…then stop counting calories. Calorie counting is obsolete. You might be asking, “Why?” and I’ll tell you, it’s all about the nutrient density. If you’re only eating foods that are high in calories but low in nutrients, then what’s going to happen is that your body isn’t satisfied nutritionally, and it’s going to be craving additional foods. Hence, more calories and weight gain.
Let me give you some examples. Let’s take regular vegetables that are not organic. As these veggies are growing, they are sprayed with pesticides, fungicides and herbicides, which are poisons that kill the microorganisms in the ground. These microorganisms or bugs, are responsible for producing the vitamins and minerals in the plant. Without them, there are no nutrients being produced in the veggies and eating them will cause you to be craving additional foods to satisfy the nutrients your body is craving. Eating organic foods on the other hand, are loaded with vitamins and minerals and don’t contain the toxic metals and chemicals, and therefore your body is getting the nutrients it needs.
Now, let’s talk about foods such as cookies, cakes, pasta, breads, crackers etc. These foods are high in calories but low in nutrients. If you’re not getting the nutrients that your body needs, it will cause you to go on a food craving binge. You’ll keep eating until the body gets the nutrients it needs and wants. Thus, the body overeats and you gain weight.
On the other-hand, if virtually all of the food you eat every day is comprised of high nutrients, the body is automatically getting all the nutrients it needs, and therefore it will automatically regulate your appetite and calorie intake. This happens without you having to struggle and restrict yourself to control how many calories you eat. This aspect essentially forces your body to auto-adjust your appetite and you naturally fall within the exact calorie range that your body needs without having to over-analyze or count calories.
Since most of us are not extreme distance athletes, this just shows you the power of eating a super-high nutrient dense diet and how this can automatically control your appetite, eliminate cravings, and put you on the road to a lean healthy body for life.
