Do you feel there is too much stress in your life? If so, you are not alone. More and more people today are living lives where stress is adversely affecting them. Perhaps you are in a position of being a caregiver, or perhaps you are working and raising a family. You may be in a job that you do not enjoy. Did you know that even a “boring job” can be stressful? Perhaps you are experiencing stress due to financial difficulties. There are many causes of stress and it affects people differently.
The following are just a few of the many ways stress may be affecting you. See if any of them are true for you. Signs of stress include: neck ache, back pain, muscle spasms, frequent headaches, jaw clenching, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, nausea, excessive anxiety, worry, guilt, nervousness, insomnia, nightmares or disturbing dreams, overreaction to petty annoyances, feeling overloaded or overwhelmed, depression, frequent or wild mood swings, sudden attacks of life-threatening panic, diminished sexual desire or performance, weight gain or loss, increased anger, frustration, hostility, and more.
Although it may seem as though the outer event is causing the problem, there are other factors involved. Let me give you an example. Imagine someone criticizes you and implies you are not doing enough for your parents or children, etc. You have a choice in how you deal with this remark. You can accept it and believe you’re not a very good parent or caregiver, etc. or you can think this person has no idea what is going on in your life and is totally off the mark. In other words, you can accept the criticism or reject it. If you accept it you are going to feel diminished. You do have a choice in the thoughts that you believe.
Since you do have a choice in how you look at things, why let outside events affect you so adversely? The answer may have a lot to do with beliefs you formed when you were quite young. It may seem hard to believe that ideas you developed when you were very young could still be influencing you, but this is often the case.
You may not even remember how or when these unhealthy messages were formed, but you are now living your life as if these messages were set in stone. These beliefs become subconscious and you may not even realize that they are dictating the kind of life you are now living. If you do not get in touch with your subconscious beliefs, you could spend the rest of your life in bondage to these early unhealthy ideas.
What is necessary is to find out what these beliefs are that are causing you so much pain, and replace them with much healthier beliefs. You may believe that it is the outside event that is causing so much stress in your life, but what is really happening is that the outside event is getting you in touch with your deep-seated core beliefs. In addition, if you truly examine what is going on, it is likely that underneath the stress there is a great deal of fear. But again, this stems from early beliefs and decisions.
An excellent way to free yourself of these unhealthy and very destructive negative core beliefs is with the use of hypnosis. Hypnosis has been proven to be safe and effective and can help you get in touch with, and then eliminate, these deep-seated beliefs. In addition, it can be done in a short period of time.
