Stress can have a powerful effect on the health of our physical, mental and emotional well-being. There are various ways we can be stressed, sometimes without even realizing it; unknown fears and beliefs can subconsciously effect our daily lives.
Another experience of stress is panic attacks. Most people don’t realize it, but we are all highly sensitive beings; no one has ever told us that we are, or how we can use these sensitivities for the highest good. Being highly sensitive means we pick-up on or feel other people’s feelings, emotions and thoughts. Imagine you are in a room with 10 people — we are picking-up over 6,000 thoughts and emotions in that room. We can now see how overwhelming that could be and how it tends to stress our bodies. If we add in environmental factors and toxins that already keep our sensitivities high, feeling all these energies can put our bodies into overload or a panic attack.
Stones that help shield highly sensitive people are: aquamarine shields us from picking-up on other’s energies; sugilite helps us remember our life path; rhodonite is excellent for stopping panic attacks and helping to enhance our talents; labradorite protects us from other’s energies; and obsidian aids in grounding us while pulling all static energy from our auras.
There are a variety of stones that can be used to help relieve stress. Most of these stones work to heal and release blocks in our nervous system, while eliminating over-thinking and worrying. A lot of the stones that are used for stress are found in shades of light blue all the way to deep indigo. These colors are very calming and soothing to the nervous system, the pineal gland, brain, blood pressure, thyroid, third eye and throat chakras, all benefiting from these minerals.
Stones beneficial for the thyroid are aquamarine and blue lace agate. Lapis lazuli lowers our blood pressure. Sodalite activates the pineal gland. Amazonite is good for the brain and helps us to be our true selves. Lepidolite and rose quartz have a high lithium content, good for depression and helping us accept that we are exactly where we are supposed to be in the moment. These stones can be used on the chakras or placed directly on the area in need.
Stones work through piezieoelectrity; when we hold them in our hands and squeeze them they transmit their energies.

After we have had a trauma or a very stressful situation, our nervous system needs help healing and repairing itself.
This way, we won’t get stressed out so easily. Ever notice if you have been stressed for awhile, little things seem to frustrate or stress you out easier than usual? It’s because we are kind of like an empty barrel — once you put water or stress in the barrel it doesn’t empty, it just gets fuller, until we reach the point where we can’t take it anymore. When we heal our nervous system and maintain our stress, things don’t bother us as easily.
Stones beneficial to hold during meditation are blue kyanite sodalite and lapis lazuli. Meditation is also excellent for alleviating stress; using crystals helps us to focus and quiet our minds while meditating. Meditation is also excellent for stress because it keeps us in the now, and when we are in the now we cannot worry about things that may or may not occur in the future. It also helps us to see that most of the stuff in our minds is an illusion and we can decide in every moment whether to stress or not. We realize it is a choice to choose to be stressed, and when we recognize this we can also decide not to stress.
Here is an easy healing crystal array you can use for yourself or others. You can sit or lay in it, or use it to grid your healing table. You need one piece of each stone: blue lace agate, sodalite, lapis lazuli and rhodonite. Place the lapis lazuli in the direction of the west, the sodalite in the south, the rhodonite in the west and the blue lace agate in the north. Sit in this healing array for 15 minutes to a half-hour to receive the benefits. Have fun! Don’t worry!
