DETROIT, MI – In cities around the world, a hip new event model is quickly gaining popularity. A “morning rave” is a weekday dance event where, instead of alcohol, guests are offered fresh juice, coffee, and cacao. This is a chance for people to start their day the right way before going to work.
This type of “conscious partying” started in London and New York, but has since popped up in dozens of other cities. Now it’s time that Detroit had one of its own.
From 6:00-9:00 am on Tuesday, August 16, Vibrant Dawn will take over the historic Scarab Club in the museum district of Midtown Detroit. We’ll start with some guided movement and then open up to a full-on dance party with Detroit’s own DJ Lena. Finally we’ll come together for a yoga class to stretch and wind down.
In addition to healthy beverages, massage therapy and Reiki will be available for people who want a relaxing break. Interactive performers will mix in with the crowd to get people out of their shell and into creative expression. Costumes and funny outfits are encouraged.
This event can have a huge impact on the local culture, showing people that it’s possible to act weird, have a lot of fun, and still be healthy. It also offers the potential to build strong community ties. Any city that hosts one will surely catch positive attention from the rest of the world.
Tickets are $20 Early Bird before Aug 1; $25 from Aug 1 until the event and at the door.
