MI Earth Day Fest Returns to Rochester Municipal Park
13th annual event will bring thousands together to make every day earth day

Rochester, MI – MI Earth Day Fest returns the weekend of April 20-22 to its most popular location, the beautiful Rochester Municipal Park/City Center area, on the banks of Paint Creek. The 13th annual celebration runs 4-8 pm on Friday, April 20; 10 am-6 pm on Saturday, April 21 and 10 am-4 pm on Sunday, April 22.

“With so many pressing issues these days, it’s easy to forget about Earth Day and its contribution to a healthy environment,” said Steve Litz of event organizer MI Green Team. “We’re very pleased to work with so many leading businesses, organizations and community groups to offer one of the largest and liveliest Earth Day celebrations on the planet.”

The festival affords attendees many opportunities to shop, learn and celebrate. More than 100 exhibitors will offer eco-friendly products and services, free samples, show specials, door prizes and giveaways. Leading environmental and wellness community groups will provide presentations, hands-on workshops and networking round-tables. Free massage, health checks and other wellness programs will also be available.

Food trucks and vendors will offer healthy meals, snacks and drinks. The Kids Korner will host activities, arts and crafts and a straw-bale climb. Jennifer Kincer, entertainment manager and emcee, will present a full weekend lineup of family-friendly music and dance on the Emagine Entertainment Stage, including award-winning local groups, talented newcomers and daily headliners.

Special events planned throughout the weekend include a Friday 7 pm kickoff and awards ceremony recognizing winners of the 2018 MI Green Hall of Fame and USGBC My Green School Art Contest, as well as a Saturday 10 am parade and pep rally, and a Sunday 8 am RARA 5k Fun Run.

Event manager John Batdorf commented on the venue, “A major Earth Day event belongs at this natural setting in a city like Rochester, which integrates an award-winning downtown and many natural attractions. We’re planning for large and enthusiastic crowds.”

Rochester Municipal Park/City Center is located at 600 Pine St. in Rochester.

General admission is free. An optional $10 VIP ticket available online includes reserved seating, a goody bag with gift cards and more, entry in the door prize drawing and a $5 donation to a participating nonprofit organization (with referral code).
