Descent into the Underworld: An Immersive Sound Meditation with Amanda Jurasits

According to legend, Persephone descends into the underworld around this time to join her husband, Hades. This transition brings about autumn and winter, allowing the earth to sleep before she rejoins her mother Demeter for spring and summer.

Much like Persephone, we also go through our seasons. In this sound mediation, we will be diving into our own winter, exploring the darker, quieter parts of the psyche that may usually be forgotten or pushed to the side.

There will be a guided meditation during the first part of the event to ease participants into a relaxed state. The focus will be addressing any shadow aspects that need healing, forgiveness, and release, much like what the earth does during the winter season. Following the meditation will be a singing bowl concert with Koshi chimes and rattles.

All seasons deserve honor and respect. Just as Persephone can embody a spring maiden and queen of the Underworld, so, too, can we.
