BODY MIND SPIRIT GUIDE TO MEDITATION

“The who, what, where, when, why, and how of Meditation”.

“IN STILLNESS, THE SOUL REMEMBERS.”

The WHO of Meditation is YOU, but who are you?

How you answer that question will determine how much you can get out of meditation, and that can vary and change over time.

If you think of yourself only as a person living in this physical world, meditation can help you with physical matters.

If you recognize yourself as an emotional being, meditation can help you with your attitudes, emotions, and beliefs.

And when you think of yourself as a Spiritual being, meditation can help you with all things.

Ultimately, you are a Soul that possesses body, mind, and spirit, currently on a sojourn through the physical realm.

You were created by the infinite Intelligence of the Universe, the All that is All, as a mirror of God’s image. You are on a quest to connect with the unlimited potential of your divine self.

The WHAT of meditation is OBSERVING.

Meditating is observing, listening, being present with our thoughts, and the great silence of the universe that exists behind the thinking.

Thoughts are energy and information that you tune into with your brain. Thoughts flow through the brain, but they live in the mind, and there is only one mind that is divided and used by all of creation, the mind of God, the All that is All!

Depending on who you think you are, you may be listening only to your own thoughts.

You can also listen inwardly to your emotions, your feelings, your organs, and to all your body’s sensations, from every cell.

When your heart is open, you can also listen outwardly to other people’s thoughts, to the plant and animal kingdoms, and to the ancestors.

And when you connect to Spirit in states of peace, love, and joy, you can listen to God’s thoughts of intuition and inspiration.

The true WHERE of meditation is in the MIND

Physically, you can meditate in a quiet room, in your favorite chair, outdoors in nature, or in a comfortable space in your home.
But Meditation can be anywhere your awareness can rest. The truest place of meditation is not a physical location at all — it is the inner sanctuary you carry within you.

Meditation happens wherever you can turn inward, even for a moment. Whether you are at home, at work, or in the midst of daily life, the inner space of stillness is always available.

You don’t need perfect silence or an ideal setting. You simply need the willingness to pause and enter the quiet behind your thoughts.
You carry the place of meditation with you, because the real “where” is the inner space where your Soul meets your mind, and both return to harmony.

The WHEN of meditation is NOW.

Now is the only moment that is truly alive. The past survives as memory, and the future lives as possibility or imagination.

Meditation draws you out of those mental stories and anchors you in the living present moment, where clarity, insight, and inspiration actually arise.

You can choose a set time to meditate—morning to shape your day, night to release what you’ve gathered, or any moment you need to come home to yourself, but you are always simply coming back to the NOW moment.

The deeper truth is this:
NOW is the only real time there is, and it is always waiting for you. Every moment offers a doorway back to your True Self.

With practice, meditation becomes less of something you do and more of something you are—a way of moving through your life with awareness, calm, and quiet power.

The WHY of meditation is INTENTION.

Intention is the inner motive behind every thought, desire, feeling, or action. Your intention shapes your entire experience. If you seek calm, meditation brings ease.

If you seek healing, it guides the mind and body toward balance.
If you seek spiritual growth, it opens a doorway to deeper truth and connection with the Divine.
Meditation helps you:

  • Quiet the mind
  • Soften emotional tension
  • Strengthen inner awareness
  • Awaken intuition
  • Experience yourself beyond the physical
  • Realign with your Soul’s purpose

Your intention becomes the compass of your practice, and it naturally evolves—from wanting peace… to seeking clarity… to longing for connection with Spirit.
Whatever your reason, meditation always meets you exactly where you are.

The HOW of meditation is PRACTICE.

Meditation is simple, but not always easy, because the mind is used to activity.

The key is to begin gently and return again and again, without judgment.

Here is a simple approach:

  1. Find your space
Choose a quiet place where you can sit comfortably.
No special posture is required—only ease and alertness.
  2. Breathe
Let your breath become your anchor.
Feel it enter and leave the body.
    Natural, steady, effortless.
  3. Observe
Allow thoughts, feelings, and sensations to appear.
Don’t push them away and don’t pull them closer.
    Simply watch,
You are the observer, not the thinker.
  4. Listen for the silence
Between each thought is a gap—
    a moment of pure stillness,
a doorway to the deeper Self.
Rest there whenever you notice it.
  5. Return
When the mind wanders (and it will), gently return to your breath, your awareness, and the silence behind it.
Every “return” strengthens your connection to inner peace.
  6. End with gratitude
When finished, take a moment to thank yourself for showing up.
This small practice expands your mind, opens your heart, and nourishes your spirit.

Meditation is not about perfection. It is about your relationship with your thoughts, your emotions, your body, your Spirit, and, ultimately, with the Divine Self.

May you find peace and clarity on your journey!
