The old picture of man and woman — the knight in shining armor providing and protecting, and the girl child-like, perfumed, praising and pleasing him — is a fairy tale. It is much more than that.
The Man
A man is mind and muscle, power, strength, logic, and reason. In the kingdom of his mind, he seeks to rule his world, to provide for and protect what he claims, wants, and desires. He is the master of the outer world — the King.
The Woman
A woman is heart and wisdom, soft and intuitive, deeply connected. In the kingdom of her heart, she rules the inner world of emotions and relationships, bringing healing, love, family, and joy to life. She is the Queen.
Marriage: Head and Heart as One
Marriage is the union of man (mind and knowledge) and woman (wisdom and intuition). Together, they create wholeness: the head and the heart joined as one.
- The man guides in matters of the mind, bringing clarity and calm.
- The woman guides in matters of the heart, revealing the why behind every who, what, where, when, and how.
When the why is known, the individual can align their strength, logic, and Compassion with love and success.
When clarity and safety are provided, the woman’s heart opens fully — and her love heals, restores, and completes him.
Mutual Respect
This harmony is only possible when there is respect.
When a man commits, he offers his lifeblood, even his life, to protect her. But in that commitment, he places his heart in her hands. A word or even a look of disapproval can wound him deeply. That is why respect is not a request — it is a necessity. He needs her acceptance to lay down his armor and reveal his true heart.
In turn, a woman must protect his heart, just as he protects her body. She becomes his guide through the deep whys of his emotions and desires. By listening with love, she helps him release shame and guilt, rediscover self-love, and open himself to the love of others. She redeems him.
The Balance of Roles
- He may provide the “what, where, when, and how.”
- She gives the “why.”
- He ensures protection and provision.
- She ensures connection and Compassion.
She tempers his logic when it runs too far, reminding him to forgive, to show grace, to act with kindness. She is his emotional and social compass — the beauty, sweetness, and sunshine that guide him to peace.
The Foundations of a Lasting Union
- Desire & Attraction – the spark that draws them together.
- Equality (Co-Regency) – where King and Queen share sovereign authority, built on mutual trust, respect, and honor.
- Respect – admiration for one another’s abilities, qualities, contributions, and feelings.
- Acceptance & Compassion – the opposite of judgment and rejection.
- Love – choosing never to harm.
- Trust – the foundation of every relationship; without it, love withers.
- Truth – the courage to speak honestly, without fear of ridicule, shame, or guilt.
When both truth and trust are present, each partner is free to grow, to be authentic, and to respond with love. This creates a brilliant life together — one that honors both the King and the Queen, the head and the heart, the mind and the soul.
