Spotlight on Conscious Cinema: My Father, The Healer
From the creators of Awake: The Life of Yogananda

At a time when audiences around the world are yearning for deeper meaning and inspiration, filmmakers Paola di Florio and Peter Rader are leading the way in what’s being called the “Conscious Cinema” movement.

The Oscar and Emmy-nominated duo behind Counterpoint Films—best known for their acclaimed documentary Awake: The Life of Yogananda—are back with a powerful new film: My Father, The Healer. This award-winning docudrama tells the story of Master Li, a gifted Chinese QiGong healer who was forced to conceal his abilities during Maoist China’s Cultural Revolution. As his spiritual gifts grew, so did his personal struggles, culminating in a dramatic journey of ancestral healing and redemption.

Described by the Illuminate Film Festival as “hauntingly beautiful” and “soul-stirring,” My Father, The Healer is much more than a film—it’s a deeply personal exploration of trauma, healing, and the quiet courage it takes to reclaim your path.

Di Florio and Rader have spent over a decade creating and consulting on media that bridges science, spirituality, and storytelling. Their portfolio includes the documentary Infinite Potential, a rich exploration of science and consciousness, and their ongoing work through Whole Body Meditation.

Through their initiative Source to Screen, they support filmmakers, musicians, and visionaries in integrating spirituality and creativity. This unique incubator lab has been offered at venues such as the Esalen Institute, where di Florio and Rader continue to nurture the next generation of conscious storytellers.

Currently, the filmmakers are developing a new slate of projects—including a remake of a major Hollywood film—as they continue to shape the future of spiritual cinema.

Stay tuned for more updates, and explore how stories like My Father, The Healer are igniting inner transformation around the globe.
