Springing Forward in Love: The Power of Resurrection

As we navigate the unpredictable Michigan April—where one day brings the warmth of a new sun and the next a dusting of late snow—we are reminded of the persistent nature of life. In the Metro Detroit landscape, we see the tulips and crocuses doing the brave work of pushing through the thawing earth. This is our literal “springing forward,” a seasonal cue that it is time for our own renewal and reinvigoration.

The Resurrection of the Heart

For many of us, this month is anchored by the message of Easter. Beyond the historical tradition, the metaphysical heart of Easter is Resurrection: the act of rising above old limitations, shedding the “winter” of our past habits, and stepping into a higher expression of life. It is a spiritual invitation to ask ourselves: What within me is ready to come alive?

In a world that often feels chaotic or divisive, staying centered requires more than just a passive wish for peace. It requires us to “up” our spiritual practices. Just as we clear the debris from our gardens to make room for new growth, we must clear the mental and emotional clutter that keeps us from our highest good.

April’s Divine Faculty: Love

In our study of the Twelve Powers, April belongs to the power of Love. Located at the heart center, Love is far more than a fleeting emotion; it is the harmonizing, unifying force of the universe.

When we activate the power of Love, we aren’t just “being nice.” We are using a divine tool to remain focused and poised. Love is the faculty that allows us to see the divine spark in others, even when external circumstances are challenging. It acts as a spiritual magnetic force, drawing to us the peace and the people that align with our highest intentions.

Practicing the Presence

To truly spring forward this month, I invite you to deepen your commitment to the Silence. When we sit in meditation and consciously radiate Love to our community, our families, and—most importantly—ourselves, we become the “resurrection” we wish to see in the world.

By centering ourselves in this power, we don’t just survive the changes of the season; we thrive within them. This April, let us not just observe the renewal of the earth—let us embody it.

Always In Love,

Always With Love,
