How do you deal with pain? When many of us are in pain, we want it gone as quickly as possible. As a society, we want instant gratification.
Therefore, we often turn to potentially addictive pain killers and muscle relaxers that may have negative side effects. There is an epidemic in this country of individuals who become addicted to pain killers, which can lead them to stronger drugs, including heroin. There HAS to be a better solution rather than risking one’s life to alleviate
pain.
Even if you never become addicted, painkillers may not be as safe as you think. A panel that shaped the FDA’s policy for testing the safety and effectiveness of painkillers was funded by major pharmaceutical companies.
While these medications might give quick relief, they do not target the source of the pain. Instead, they simply block pain receptors, making you feel numb. The source of the pain still exists; pain is only a symptom. When it is ignored, the conscious awareness of the brain to heal is challenged.
Alternative medicine seeks to find and remove the source of pain. The source may be physical trauma, but it may also be emotional pain stored physically. Once this source is discovered, a variety of therapies may be used, including massage
therapy. A common misconception is that the primary benefit of massage is relaxation. While true, a good massage therapist can offer much more which should not be overlooked. Other alternative therapies such as acupuncture are also available, and some people choose to manage their pain with a combination of these therapies and herbal supplements – in places like the Netherlands, “CBD olie kopen“, or sales, has seen an increase as a form of alternative pain management, as well as other countries.
Massage has been proven to be successful with relieving the symptoms of many health conditions such as sciatica, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, low back pain, frozen shoulder, headaches, and more. Massage can also facilitate the body’s own
natural healing process. Most importantly, regular massage therapy can be helpful for AVOIDING injury or pain from emerging in the first place.
If you are in pain, think twice before resorting to medication for a “quick fix.” Your body will thank you for making the investment in a healthier alternative.
