MI Earth Day Fest 2019 Offers More
14th annual Festival Adds Bike Recycling, E-Auto Test Drives, Eco-Celebrities, Dignitaries and More

Rochester, MI – The MI Earth Day Fest will return to the beautiful Rochester Park/City Center, on the banks of the Paint Creek, Friday-Sunday, April 26- 28. The 14th annual event is one of the planet’s largest and liveliest Earth Day celebrations. Admission to the event and programs is free of charge and open to all ages.

“We’re pleased to bring back many favorites but most excited about several new programs the event will offer visitors this year”, stated Steve Litz, event spokesperson. “These includes presentations by the Sustainable Duo, Florida-based eco-entrepreneurs and educators, and Cindy Klement, Ann Arbor environmental health author, as well as Sheriff Bouchard’s bike recycling program, and an expanded Auto Alley including test drives with the MI Electric Auto Association.”

The festival will again offer attendees many opportunities to Shop, Learn and Celebrate! More than 100 exhibitors will offer eco-friendly and healthy-living products and services, many with free samples, show specials, door prizes, and giveaways. Leading environmental and wellness community groups will provide expert presentations, hands-on workshops, wellness checks, and networking round-tables. Free massage will be available from Irene’s Myomassology Institute.

Food trucks and vendors will offer a variety of healthy and delicious meals, snacks and drinks. The Kids Korner will host activities, arts and crafts, as well as a straw-bale and tower climb. Jennifer Kincer, Entertainment Manager, and popular emcee will present a full weekend of family-friendly music and dance on the Main Stage, including award-winning local groups, talented newcomers and daily headliners.

Several special events are planned throughout the weekend including a Friday 7 pm kickoff and awards ceremony, recognizing winners of the 2019 MI Green Hall of Fame and the USGBC My Green School Art Contest, a Saturday 10 am parade and pep rally, and a Sunday morning RARA 5k Fun Run.

Litz commented on the event’s venue, “With convenient parking and shuttle, a beautiful, natural setting and nearby award-winning downtown, as well as access to Pine Street for recycling, drop off and vehicle test drives, we’ve settled into the perfect spot for a world-class Earth Day celebration. We hope that all those interested in healthy and green living will join us for this 14th annual celebration.”

Free admission and event programming are sponsored by Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART), MacKellar Promotional Marketing, and our media partners.

$10 VIP admission tickets are available prior to the event and include reserved stage seating, a goody bag, door prize drawing entry, and a $5 donation to a participating non-profit organization (with referral code). VIP tickets, event details and directions are available online at www.miEDF.com.
