Detroit, Michigan – Historic Detroit Unity is honored to have been selected as the first Michigan appearance for internationally acclaimed author and lecturer, Marianne Williamson on her Love America book and speaking tour, Rev. Gregory Guice announced today.

Williamson will speak at the church, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016, on Friday, June 8th at 7:00 p.m. At this time, Detroit Unity Temple is the only scheduled Michigan visit Ms. Williamson on her national tour. Ticket Prices will range from $35 – $65, depending on the seating area. For an additional charge, tickets will be offered for a reception with Williamson at 5:45 PM. Details and ticket sales can be found at www.detroitunity.com

“We are honored that Marianne Williamson has chosen Detroit Unity Temple to share her vision for healing our nation and our polarized political system,” said Rev. Guice. “This is a very challenging time in America and Marianne is the kind of person who can help to shift our nation’s consciousness and bring diverse people and groups together.”

For the last 35 years, Williamson has been one of America’s most well-known public voices, having been a popular guest on television programs such as Oprah, Larry King Live, Good Morning America, & Bill Maher. Seven of her twelve published books have been New York Times Best Sellers and four of these were #1. The mega best seller A Return to Love is considered a must-read of The New Spirituality.

Williamson has dedicated her travel schedule during 2018 to the Love America Tour, articulating an evolutionary wave of new possibility as principles of higher consciousness are brought to bear on our politics.

“We will transform our country through our willingness to transform our relationship to it,” Williamson said. “Our own disconnection from the political process, lack of knowledge of how our system operates, lack of understanding of our history, and confusion about many of the issues that confront us now, have led in too many cases to a dangerous emotional disconnection between our country and ourselves.”

Marianne’s other books include The Law of Divine Compensation, The Age of Miracles, Everyday Grace, A Woman’s Worth, Illuminata, Healing the Soul of America, A Course in Weight Loss, The Gift of Change, Enchanted Love, A Year of Miracles, and her newest book, Tears to Triumph: Spiritual Healing for the Modern Plagues of Anxiety and Depression.

Marianne is a native of Houston, Texas. In 1989, she founded Project Angel Food, a meals-on-wheels program that serves homebound people with AIDS in the Los Angeles area. To date, Project Angel Food has served over 11 million meals. Marianne also co-founded the Peace Alliance.
