Is your inability to lose weight and keep it off rooted in your subconscious?

A while back, my doctor had to go to the hospital for heart problems due to excess weight. He told me, “I had a lot of time to think while in the hospital. I asked myself, Do I really want to keep doing what I am doing to myself (i.e. overeating) knowing it could kill me?” He decided he would rather be alive than continue overeating the way he had been.

Most people realize that being overweight affects your health. The fact is, being overweight increases your risks for a wide variety of medical problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, cancer, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, gout, breathing problems such as sleep apnea (when a person stops breathing for short episodes during sleep) and asthma. It also affects legs, backs, ankles, etc.

Obviously, it is in our best interest to lose the excess pounds if we are overweight. Not only would we be much healthier, but we would also feel better about ourselves, have higher self-esteem, more energy, look better, and have more energy to play and be more active. When one is overweight it is more difficult to stick to an exercise regime. (Who has the energy?)

Knowing all of this, why are so many people still overweight? The truth is that many people have tried to lose weight, often many times. There are thousands of diet books, many organizations one can join, continuous articles about weight loss in magazines and newspapers, and many shows on TV talking about it. The question is, Why aren’t they working? You may have dieted many times. You lose some weight, get off the diet, and put the weight right back on–sometimes adding to it. This has been called “yo-yo dieting.”

The question is, is there a way to lose the weight and keep it off? Fortunately, there is. The problem is that most of us do not address the real issues. Our conscious mind does, indeed, want to lose the weight, but our subconscious mind is not in agreement. Have you ever wondered why you sabotage your diet? Using will power alone does not usually work. Whenever there is a conflict between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind, the subconscious always wins.

Thus you need to get your subconscious mind in agreement with your conscious mind if you want to be successful. One of the best ways to accomplish this is with the use of hypnosis. Not only is hypnosis safe, but it is very effective.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding about hypnosis. Hypnosis is really very safe. You are always aware of what is going on; you will not do anything in hypnosis that you wouldn’t do in your normal waking state. You are not under the spell of the hypnotist and you will not reveal any deep, dark secrets. If you were ever asked to do something that goes against your values or moral beliefs, you either would not respond or you would immediately come out of trance. In addition, you will only accept the healthy positive messages that you wish to accept. You are always free to choose. In fact, you are the one who really puts yourself into hypnosis. It can’t be forced upon you. If you do not want to go into a trance you will not go. It is similar to having a daydream.

The first step is your willingness to engage the process of getting to the root of your subconscious beliefs. With hypnosis you can find out what unhealthy beliefs are in the subconscious mind, and you can then challenge or dispute them, and replace them with much healthier messages.

In addition, people overeat for a wide variety of reasons. Some eat when bored, lonely, angry, scared, etc. There are many factors contributing to this unhealthy behavior, and unless they are addressed, it will be extremely difficult to lose the excess pounds. Part of the hypnosis session deals with the causes of overeating, and then helps you find better ways to deal with the issues you are faced with. You do not have to continue to suffer. You do not have to remain overweight. There is a solution.
