Cupping therapy and Acupuncture have thousands of years of history in China. Cupping is a therapy in which a jar (‘cup’) is attached to the skin’s surface for a few minutes, creating a suction which causes local ‘congestion’, pulling blood to a region which stimulates healing. This happens via the removal of air in the jar. This method has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of Qi and blood in the channels, diminishing swelling and pain, dispelling cold, toxins and blockages. It promotes relaxation, improved health and well-being.

Cupping therapy is mainly used to treat arthritis, sports injuries, various nervous conditions, diseases in the gastrointestinal region and the region of the lungs. According to the traditional Chinese Medicine theory, after Cupping, the local area becomes flushed or appears bruised. This is a normal condition. It is highly recommended to have an experienced and licensed Acupuncturist diagnose any problems before you try Cupping therapy.
