The Diamond Within – Navigating with Wisdom and Imagination

“Judge not by appearances.” We’ve heard those words from our Way-shower, Jesus, many times. But in the “interesting times” we currently find ourselves navigating, that directive feels more like a lifeline than a suggestion.

When we look at the world, it is easy to feel small or overwhelmed. However, I’ve come to realize that we aren’t meant to navigate these waters using the world’s compass. Instead, we are called to use our innate Power of Wisdom, which is simply our spiritual judgment. It’s the ability to stand upright, hold our heads high, and evaluate our lives through the lens of our higher self rather than the chaotic examples set by the world around us.

The Facets of the “I AM”

I like to think of our 12 Divine Powers not as tools we reach for in a box, but as facets of a single diamond. That diamond is the “I AM”—the divine presence that resides in every one of us. While we are focusing on Wisdom this month, we must remember that these facets always work together. It took me a long time to realize that it’s rarely just one power at work; they operate in a divine symphony to help us accomplish our soul’s calling.

Imagining a Higher Way

To truly exercise Wisdom, we can call upon another power: Imagination.

●       Wisdom tells us where we are and whose we are.

●       Imagination allows us to see a better way of being, living, and communicating.

If we can imagine a more peaceful way of connecting with those around us, we aren’t just daydreaming; we are drawing upon our innate divine nature to manifest a new reality.

The Foundation of Love

As we look ahead toward April and the power of Love, we remember the wisdom shared by a fellow minister in Minneapolis: “March if you must but only if you can do so with love… If you’re marching with hate, don’t march. Parch with love for peace .” When we blend our Wisdom with Imagination and ground them both in Love, we finally move into a position to live the example Jesus set for us: to truly love one another. These powers aren’t outside of us. They are who we are. This month, I invite you to let your inner diamond shine a little brighter. Stand tall, imagine the good, and let Wisdom lead the way.

Always With Love,

Rev. Rick
