Is it time for you to “Break a Pact”?

Re-reading Paul Coehlo’s, “The Valkyries,” his journey profoundly resonated with me. I am a firm believer in the Universe providing us with what we need when we need it. When I read the first lesson Paul had to discover about himself, I shuddered at its perfect timing for my life: “Break a Pact.”
A pact is a commitment you make with yourself or someone else, agreeing to a plan or an action for a period of time. It sounds counter-intuitive to read that breaking a pact is necessary for positive growth instead of making one. Coehlo had to break the unconscious negative thought pattern he believed about himself that blocked his personal freedom and joy.
A negative thought pattern or pact is as simple as “I’m not good enough;” or “I’m not good with money.” If we begin to reflect on these thoughts, we find that there are ways we are good enough or good with money. There is no longer any proof for this belief. What pacts have you made with yourself that keep you from your highest good? Break the pact and set yourself free!
