Have you ever considered yourself calm and poised? It never occurred until one day, while working, a customer approached me and asked how I stayed so calm and poised.
I had never seen this person before, and I was stunned by the question. It caused me to think, “How do I stay calm and poised?” It seemed to have taken years for me to reach this climax of calmness in life.
Being poised is an inner nature, not an outer image. Most people think being poised is what you wear—appearing polished from head to toe. Poise is beneath what you wear, an inner substance that can be manifested by the way you think and feel about yourself, an inner belief of who you are. As for what you wear, it is the way you see yourself and the way you would like to present yourself to the outer world without sacrificing yourself to maintain the image you are presenting.
Let’s start by affirming that you are calm and poised as often as possible. I would repeat every day that I am perfectly poised. At the time, this was what I wanted to be, not realizing that this would manifest in me in time. It caught me graciously by surprise.
Here are a few examples of affirmations:
I am confident about who I am and where I am going.
I am a beautiful, lovable person; I love who I am.
I am inspired with the essence of living.
I am perfectly poised.
I am a winner.
When repeated every day, these words become a part of you. You can choose your own words, words that you feel suit you. Make sure that the words are positive. When you become confident in all things, poise naturally sets in. Calmness knows everything is working for good, and the inner being is at peace. The outer world sees you as being balanced and at ease. Others sense a stillness about you that is unfettered.
Rock of Faith
When in despair, go to God in prayer.
Know that Thee is always there,
Believe in Thee with all your soul
And through God, you will be made whole.
God is the rock and salvation of our being,
Show love and peace in all of your doings.
Believe in the higher power without a doubt,
And let God bring all good things about.
Knowing who you are and accepting yourself is another state of poise. Maintaining a healthy consciousness is an art. The art of being alive, alert, and aware is a great substance of staying poised. So, instead of restless anxiety and an unhappy journey, you will possess calm confidence and the knowledge that you can accomplish everything that you desire.
This may seem like a lot of work, but it isn’t when you think of the investment you are making in yourself and the fulfillment that comes with it. My main point is that poised is a way of being, not a way of doing it, a natural state of being. If you can naturally be who you are and accept and understand yourself to be the most you can be, then you are on your way to that natural state of being poised. With that comes a calm state of mind. Love, Light, Healing, and Blessings to all!
Woman
Woman, I am, as woman, I stand.
I speak what I feel inside.
I go forth in my stride.
Expressing kindness and love,
Reaching beyond the heavens above.
Woman, I am, as woman, I stand.
Radiant in the spirit within,
Knowing in life, I can win.
As beauty shines forth in the sun,
To all, I wave my wand.
With self-confidence, I shake a hand,
The woman I am, as a woman, I stand.
