This family-friendly event is organized by the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Birmingham Sealcoat, Crittenton Hospital, Golling Buick GMC, James C. Komendera DDS & Associates, Knights Tent and Party Rental, Legal Shield, Millage Family Chiropractic, Northern Flooring and Wally Edgar Chevrolet.

This year’s Expo will feature more than 100 businesses of all varieties sharing information about their services and selling merchandise.

Come hungry and taste free food samples from 51 North Brewery, Culvers, Italia Gardens, Kona Ice, and ‘wiches. Defending 2014 Pizza War champion Chicago Brother’s Pizza will battle to try and defend their title in the fifth annual Pizza War. New this year is a Sandwich Slam. Hollywood Market, Jersey Mike’s Subs, O’Haver’s Flavorz, Pur Cuisine and Times Square Deli will compete to see who has the best sandwich in Lake Orion.

Come early because only the first 250 in the door will be allowed to vote in the Sandwich Slam. A scavenger hunt, bounce house, free vision screening for kids and loads of door prizes round out the fun.

“This event is designed to connect the community with local businesses in a fun atmosphere,” said Alaina Campbell, Chamber Executive Director. “Local businesses are the backbone of our community. It’s important to keep the dollars we spend local so that money recirculates in our economy, benefiting us over and over again.”

The planning and implementation of the Expo is a collaborative effort between the Orion Area Chamber and the Lake Orion High School DECA Club. DECA is an international association that prepares emerging entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Sarah Simpson, Deven Bernier and Brendan Kelley are three DECA Club students who have worked tirelessly since February on the Expo, led by their advisor Julia Dalrymple. “The Chamber believes in encouraging and supporting our local Lake Orion students and is thrilled to work with the DECA Club. Every year we are amazed at the dedication and enthusiasm they provide in helping plan the Expo,” said Andrea Rank, Expo Committee Chairperson and owner of Crate’s Coffee House.

Admission to the Expo is free to the public with parking lot shuttles from Stadium Drive Elementary and Scripps Middle School provided by Pee Wee Patch. Visit the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce website at orionareachamber.com or call (248) 693-6300 for more information.
