Edgar Cayce”s Cure for the Common Cold

The Cayce diet stresses the right acid-alkaline balance and Cayce said that a person didn’t need to get a cold at all. “A cold cannot exist in alkaline!”

So if your body is properly alkalined… you CAN NOT get a cold. Below are tips on how to do that and get through the winter.. without the winter blues of a cold.

 CAYCE’S INGREDIENTS

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) – This was the backbone of the Cayce cold cure, because it is one of the basic elements of the body, and strongly alkaline. Taking it helps the body to recover the desirable alkalinity to fight off a cold. At the first sign of a cold, he advised taking a teaspoon in 6-8 ounces of water every hour until the cold backs off. Taking it when you already have the cold can make you feel a lot better, too.

Eat lots of citrus fruits (especially organic, if possible)

Grapefruit, Oranges, Lemons, and Limes

Orange juice (with lime)

Fresh or canned tomatoes (Cayce considered them a citrus.)

Drink plenty of liquids, especially hot

Coffee – (with caffeine) He recommended it to help the adrenals, when they are in a sorry state. (unless other medical conditions prohibit).

Hot honey-lemon with unflavored gelatin stirred in for coordination. (Try 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1-2 tablespoons of honey in a cup of hot water.)

Drink lots of water.

A note about citrus: We’ve found grapefruit more effective than oranges, probably because they are more primitive, like limes and lemons. Oranges have been hybridized endlessly to be sweeter and milder, with less seeds. Cayce suggested people add lemon juice to grapefruit and lime juice to oranges, to produce more of the original reaction.
