For thousands of years, nature has provided humanity with powerful and diverse medicines right out of the arms of Mother Nature. The miraculous healings that have occurred under the influence of these “material medica” aren’t just the mystery seen in ancient times, but are now known to be based on actual scientific explanations.

When God directed Moses to make the holy anointing oil from myrrh, sweet cinnamon, calamus, cassia, and olive oil, this mixture would have been a powerful antibiotic and antiviral combination which would protect and treat all those who received it. Cinnamon is a powerful antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. Myrrh is an effective antiseptic and stimulates cellular growth.

Out of the three-hundred essential oils in use today, the average household could fulfill most of its needs with the following ten:

LAVENDER: It is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant, sedative, and detoxifier which promotes healing and stimulates the immune system.

TEA TREE OIL: The antiseptic action of tea tree oil is thought to be one-hundred times more powerful than carbolic acid and is non-poisonous to humans. It is antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal making it useful in many different types of conditions. It can be used to treat candida, a variety of infections, ringworm, sunburn, acne, athlete’s foot, toothache, pyorrhea and numerous other conditions.

PEPPERMINT: Peppermint has been used by many cultures, such as the Egyptians, Chinese, and Native American Indians, because of its health promoting qualities. It is an excellent digestive, respiratory and circulatory aid while being an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. It also safely keeps mice, fleas, and ants away!

CHAMOMILE: There are several types of chamomile. Two good ones are Chamomile German and Chamomile Roman. While Chamomile is antibacterial, antiseptic, and disinfectant, it is most prized for its anti-inflammatory abilities. It soothes a baby’s teeth and is relaxing in the bath. It is analgesic, diuretic, sedating and calming, and is great in rejuvenating treatments.

EUCALYPTUS: Treats chest problems and colic, cools the body and is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibiotic, diuretic, analgesic and deodorizing. Best known for treating coughs and colds but is also useful for cystitis, candida, diabetes, and sunburn. It is also a good insect repellent.

GERANIUM: This wonderful oil works hard on the emotions. It will make chilblains disappear overnight and bring a glow to the skin. It is effective in treating endometriosis, menopausal problems, breast and uterine cancer, diabetes, blood disorders, throat infections, and as a verve tonic and sedative.

LEMON: This antiseptic and antibacterial oil helps insect bites, tension headaches, and has a tonic action on the lymphatic system and stimulates the digestive system, helps you slim and disperse cellulite and hold off wrinkles.

CLOVE: As an antibacterial, antiseptic, and analgesic this oil is good for the prevention of disease and infection, digestive problems, muscular disorders, asthma, nausea, and sinusitis. Always dilute before using on the skin.

There are many ways to use these oils. They can be used as a perfume, massage oil, inhaled as a vapor, in the bath, as candle oil, diffusers, drops on a light bulb, and much more. Use these wonderful gifts of nature to cleanse and nurture, and promote good health. We are truly blessed by these natural alternatives to treat and cure without chemicals.
