Starting from a place of Wholeness is a crucial element in the journey of personal evolution. When we embark on the quest to Find the One, we must recognize that beginning from Wholeness is the core foundation for all other transformative work. Numerous teachings within the Jungian philosophy suggest that we exist in a state of brokenness, with fragments of our true selves having split away from our innate Goodness.
This fragmentation often manifests as shadow beliefs, and acting from shadow. For some, the process of shadow integration can be a healing one, where patterns can change, and new results are possible. However, for many, this dynamic has led to the internalization of these shadows, creating various personas or alters that echo those beliefs. Many individuals spend years, even decades, “worshipping their wounds,” weaving entire life narratives around the idea of recovering from brokenness. Some, frankly, never seem to rise above this “perceived brokenness.”
Still, others will achieve a goal only to minimize the accomplishment and quickly determine that they need to move to the next goal and the next. Accomplishing a goal has often become a constantly moving goal line, where some simply continue drudging through Life as a hamster on a treadmill, never satisfied. I remember one situation where John, one of my salesmen, kept looking at the year-end stats to see if he would finish in the Top 10 of the Company. At the beginning of the Awards Luncheon, where the results would be given, he came up to me to ask once again where his production placed him. I said to him very directly: “John, WHY is this so important to you where you placed? What if you were as interested in the Journey, as the destination”. He has told this story many times, and I believe he has finally begun to love his own Life’s journey. Love your journey. AND, sure- celebrate all wins.
I have had the privilege of supporting countless individuals in reclaiming their sense of Wholeness, guiding them to understand that they were never truly broken to begin with. There exists a gentler, newer perspective for our work on this Earth and during this Life—a fresh lens through which we can view our evolution.
The time for this shift is now. Imagine, just for a moment, that you are already whole and complete in this very moment. What if you are exactly as you were meant to be, right here and right now? What if you have all of the tools you will ever need? What if the destination you have been tirelessly striving to reach is, in fact, already present within you?
What if the hero you have been waiting for, the one to save you from your struggles, is already here—and that hero is you? It is a profound truth that many fail to recognize: YOU have always been your own hero!
The only thing wrong with you is the thought that there is something wrong with you!
As we venture along the path toward “Enlightenment,” we gradually shed the layers and aspects of ourselves that no longer serve us. In doing so, we can clearly see the metaphor exemplified by the story of the renowned sculptor Michelangelo.
Legend has it that when Michelangelo set out to create his iconic sculpture, “The Statue of David,” he began with a massive block of unrefined white marble. For hours and even days, he would simply gaze at the stone, contemplating the masterpiece within it. When a friend inquired about his work, Michelangelo confidently responded, “I am creating David—a magnificent embodiment of a man who stands strong in his power, courage, and faith in God.”
Later, when that same friend returned to Michelangelo’s studio and beheld the completed sculpture, he was awestruck by its breathtaking beauty. Curious about how such perfection had emerged from mere marble, the friend asked the artist about his process. Michelangelo replied with simplicity, “It was easy—all I had to do was chip away the parts that weren’t David.” This story serves as a poignant reminder that within each of us lies an essence of perfection at our deepest core.
Everything else that we believe defines us can be gently chiseled away. By looking deeply within ourselves, we may discover a sanctuary—a place I call HOME. This inner realm is characterized by a soothing presence, often felt within the body, where a profound sense of calm resides. In this space, negativity struggles to exist; it is here that we access our truest nature, our Divine Selves. If we earnestly seek out this sacred place within us and open ourselves to the gifts it offers, we can ultimately find our way back Home. HOME is the sanctuary where we reconnect with our truest nature and feel its warmth enveloping us from within.

The journey you embark on begins with your intentions, shaping your experience and outcome. As you set forth on the quest to discover your true self, or ‘The One,’ a term that describes the divine essence within you, fueled by a desire to recognize your innate Wholeness, joy becomes the natural fruit of your efforts. However, if you approach this journey seeking to fix what you believe is broken within, you risk falling into exhaustion and despair.
Consider a plane embarking on a voyage; just a 1-degree deviation in its navigation can lead to drifting hundreds of miles off course in an hour. Similarly, your intentions at the beginning of this path significantly influence your destination. In your quest to “find yourself” through inner work or worldly pursuits, remember that you already possess the divine essence you seek.
You are richly endowed with potential, intricately woven into the fabric of Life’s Grace, waiting to be unlocked through self-love, clear intentions, and spiritual practice. This profound realization empowers you, instilling a deep sense of confidence and capability on your journey of self-discovery.
In this journey, remember to:
- Let go instead of trying to get.
- Choose Self-Love first instead of trying to figure it out.
- Reveal instead of trying to heal.
You are not fragmented; you are a magnificent manifestation of the cosmos, an expression of divine consciousness awakening to itself. Recognizing this distinction is crucial for receiving the full benefits of this course.
Psychotherapy and spirituality are intertwined, each enhancing the other. In psychotherapy, you courageously confront the parts of yourself that you may deny, repress, or project onto others; these aspects yearn for your love. Embracing self-love, known as shadow work or parts work, is vital to breaking old patterns, transforming pain, and learning from mistakes. The integration of psychotherapy and spirituality facilitates a holistic approach to self-discovery and healing, addressing both psychological and spiritual aspects.
Remember, you are not broken or incomplete; you are as you were created—whole, complete, and beautiful. Embracing this truth provides profound ease, a comfort available to you right now as you vulnerably accept your magnificence, break self-sabotaging patterns, and make new choices.
Spirituality offers a chance to observe the parts of ourselves that experience pain and limitation without becoming overly attached. By fully embracing our emotions while maintaining healthy detachment, we are guided by the spiritual practices in this course.
Embracing paradox and apparent opposites opens the door to a higher perspective. Non-duality, a key principle in spirituality, encourages us to hold these seeming opposites to uncover a greater Truth. Non-duality reveals that all apparent dualities are illusions; there is no separation between self and other or between the individual and the divine. How does this relate to finding The One? We must rediscover the One within ourselves to enable true Oneness with another. Recognizing one’s sovereignty is essential to experiencing this unity; reclaiming the unique essence of ourselves reveals our vital part in the whole. In religious terms, Jesus understood his Christhood to be one with the Father. We exist in a holographic universe where each part is a complete whole, and the center is everywhere, though not in one place.
A true state of felt Oneness with another arises not from transactional strategies or forced efforts. Instead, it’s about becoming receptive to what already resides within us and yielding to the evolutionary impulse of Life. By realizing the One within, we discover a profound, pleasurable connection with another rooted in the inner sense of Home. We cannot control this Oneness; in the non-doing, we awaken to that everything is already done.
