We are all at different points along our soul’s journey, and just as the planet is constantly changing, every person is in a state of evolution. While some of those changes are more obvious than others, they all contribute toward our Spiritual growth. If you purposely elect to take note of this progress, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how you respond to the world around you, allowing for even more growth to occur.
Choosing to be conscious of the changes that happen along the way, you’re given a valuable opportunity with which to become a better version of yourself. You can identify strengths, weaknesses, beliefs, and reactions that may or may not serve your highest and best. This can be super productive. There is a downside, however. The reflective, inner work that you do can sometimes distract from the bigger picture, causing you to lose sight of the fact that everyone is evolving at different speeds. In these moments, it can be easy to form unrealistic expectations of others, which, in turn, may lead you to judge and criticize them. It’s imperative that we remind ourselves that each person is at a different point along their soul’s journey.
When you reflect back on the earlier part of your life, it’s likely that you’ll find aspects that may cause critical thoughts to surface. There are probably past actions and decisions that you aren’t necessarily proud of. I know, personally, that when I look back at who I was 10, 15, or 20 years ago, there are things that I’m not proud of. But, I allow this exercise to be a testament to the time I’ve spent working on myself. It also reminds me that there are others who are currently holding the beliefs and understandings that I had back then, and yet others who have evolved far beyond my current level of Spirituality.
The message here is that at every point in your life, you are both a teacher and a student – simultaneously. In the same way that you appreciate your “teachers” for showing patience with you, it’s necessary for you to show patience with those who are still moving through the teachings that you’ve already experienced. This is important because patience and understanding are desperately needed at this time. They’re needed so that we can maintain a loving, healing vibration as the world navigates through the massive changes we’re currently facing.
Let’s love each other enough to unconditionally accept our differences by accepting that we’re all a work in progress, learning as we go. In the end, we all want the same things out of life. We want to be safe, healthy, loved, and purposeful during our time here. The only thing that separates us is the way we choose to accomplish these things. I choose to focus on what we have in common and encourage you to do the same. Be an example of the unconditional love and acceptance you’d like to see in the world, and never stop being both a teacher and a student.
Blessings, Susan
