When shopping for an item, I’m sure you’d agree that it’s important to investigate the available options and determine the best value for your money. This process becomes most evident when purchasing a big-ticket item like a car or household appliance. You make choices every day, consciously or unconsciously, about how you’ll invest your time and energy. Imagine if we could see our own energy in the way that we see the money in our wallet. Imagine how careful we’d be when deciding where to direct our energy & resources if we equated that expenditure to money flowing out of our pocket.
What are you investing your energy into? Are you as mindful with your thoughts, words, and actions as you are with your money? In the same way, you wouldn’t think about sending money off to support a cause you didn’t believe in; it’s important to be consciously aware of where you’re choosing to direct the energy of your thoughts, words, and actions. It’s all energy, and you have the power to use it to fuel positive growth in yourself and your world or to fuel negativity and stagnation.
I chose to create an inner dialogue that allows me to analyze every conversation, interaction, and thought process to gain greater control over how I disperse my own energy. When I see people arguing about what’s wrong in the world, instead of jumping onto the “complain train,” I either contribute a positive perspective to the situation (in an attempt to shift things in a better direction), or I step back and disengage from that conversation. Ultimately, my decision is grounded in what’s best for the collective vibration of the planet, which refers to the overall emotional and spiritual state of humanity.
There will never be a time when everyone agrees totally on any specific issue. We are too diverse in our beliefs and perspectives for that to happen. So, we can either learn to create the peaceful world we wish to live in by reacting peacefully, regardless of what’s going on around us, or we can direct our energy into fueling a fire of negativity, judgment, and anger.
Spend your energy – the energy of your thoughts, words, and actions – in a way that will create a positive shift by being as mindful of that expenditure as you would with any large purchase in your life. By doing so, you are investing in a more peaceful, loving, understanding, and compassionate future for yourself and humanity, and this potential for positive change should fill you with hope.
