DEARBORN, Mich – Friends Helping Friends

The 10th Annual Dearborn Women’s Expo at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn coming on Sunday, March 3th, 2013 has a special meaning for the Dearborn women who created the event.

The Expo raises funds for Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and is dedicated to the memory of Brittany Crawford who was a student at Dearborn High when she lost her battle with leukemia in December 2002. The event creators, Janeen and Julie Sullivan, are sisters-in-laws and the mother and aunt of Brittany, who together organize an event that attracts 100+ exhibitors and over 2,000 attendees.

Attendees can come out for some fun and retail therapy and help a great cause! The Expo raises funds to help others who are battling leukemia and to give back to an organization that supported Brittany and their family through the tough times, when they needed it the most.

With 100+ unique exhibits ranging from health and beauty to home improvement, accessories and meal preparation, silent auction items, raffles, ZUMBA, Piloxing and TRX fitness by Elements of Exercise, duck pond full of great prizes, and a fashion show by Traffic Jam Boutique, and a fun presentation by LoseYourExcuseNow.com, the event promises something for every age and interest. Admission is $3 and children under age 12 are admitted free.

The silent auction is always popular and it’s all because there are usually unique and fun items up for bidding. Local businesses always support it by making donations that range from spa days, massages, gift packages, restaurant meals, sports tickets and memorabilia, and tickets to area attractions. This is also gives great exposure to the donors. The organization is seeking silent auction items. Donors can contact Julie at 313.586.7481 to contribute a donation.

Sponsors are also sought. There are 3 levels of sponsorship available: $2,500 Presenting, $1,500 Gold, and $500 Emerald. A business can gain great exposure in exchange for the sponsorship as more than 2,000 attendees have walked through the event each of the last few years. A full description of the sponsor packages is available online at: http://www.showforwomen.com/sponsor-opportunity.html.
