All of us are good at something. You may be good at art and I may be good at golf but we are not likely to be good at the same things. In fact, none of us are good at exactly the same things. This distinction makes us human, our wants make us different. These differences keep life exciting and the universe expanding. After all if everything were the same, life would be pretty boring. Creativity would essentially cease. However, there is one thing we are all good at. In fact, we are masters at it. We are masters at hiding from ourselves.
We Hide From The Truth
What could we be hiding? The answer is simple … We are hiding truth. A long time ago early in our life, before school age, we experienced traumatic emotional events. These events are for the most part unconscious to our adult self. This is the filter through which we view the world. This is the filter for which we judge others and ourselves. And when we judge something as right or wrong, it is from this place that we react to others. We react emotionally and unconsciously; creating drama and ultimately illness, disease, stress and chaos.
Most imprinting in the emotional body was before our emotional awareness entered the mental realm.
They were not thoughts, words and concepts but were as Michael Brown in the Presence Process says, felt perceptions. During the preschool years, our mind and upper energy centers are not yet developed for us to use thought and wrap mental concepts around our experiences. This is why Michael calls them felt perceptions.
Core Emotional Experiences Impact Us Years Later
These core emotional experiences impact us now through the law of attraction. They are buried emotions that still reside within our energy body continually attracting similar experiences. What makes this so hard to believe is the disconnect between cause and effect. Perhaps your father divorces your mother and you felt abandoned and sad. Although the experience happened a long time ago, we do not see the connection between my dad abandoning me and when my girlfriend abandons me or I get fired from a job. I still feel sad and abandoned. Although years have passed, the underlying energy is the same. Like energy attracts like energy. The way it shows up (the physical form) is different but the underlying energy is the same (sadness and abandonment).
Masters At Hiding From Ourselves
By their nature these core emotional experiences are uncomfortable. They were traumatic and usually resulted from something unpleasant happening to us. Something that robbed us our joy when we were young. We were angry and sad. So our impulse is to push these feelings away so we can get on with life. Psychologists call this suppression. Because we do not know how to cope, we become masters at hiding from ourselves. We get by using humanity’s tried and true methods of escape: sedation and control. We either sedate life (alcohol, drugs, TV, sex, anything to distract us) or we control life (work hard, make things go our way). We manipulate people, events and things to control them. It has even developed into a profession. Some call it politics.
Because our suppressed emotions are attracting, they represent the causal effect of our life experiences. Unfortunately they are unconscious in our subconscious. The path to healing is to allow them to surface and to bring them into our conscious awareness. This is our work.
In this manner we will become victorious over our need to control others and things. We will become victorious over our victim mentality. We will become victorious over our need to sedate life. We will become victorious over our shadow habits. We will be able to live life fully and free of the past. A whole new world will open to you. Life will be come easy, you will have more energy; relationships will become passionate, loving, giving, generous and fun. What you want in life you can have. You will be a true master of your life.
You just have to allow yourself to feel, allow the past to surface and then let go of it.
Pranic Breathwork Transforms
This is why conscious breathing through Pranic Breathwork is so powerful. The breath when used in a certain manner brings you into the present moment. The energies of the past cannot survive in the present. They rise to the surface and can be gently dealt with. The introduction of the high vibration energy of the breath is what clears out the negative energies of the past. These denser energies are simply transformed into a higher vibration. This is why many people say they feel lighter, clearer and more peaceful after a Transformational Breathwork session.
As Polonius in Shakespeare’s Hamlet said to his son Laertes, “This above all, to thine own self be true.” This is my prayer for you.
