Support Our Young People!

Do you remember when you were young and were unsure about the best way to study for a test, make plans for college, interview for a job, purchase a car, or even balance a checkbook?

National Mentoring Month focuses awareness on the need for mentoring and how we as individuals, businesses, schools and faith-based communities can work together to help ensure positive outcomes, good decision making, and successful futures for our young people. Those thinking about breaking into this invaluable profession may want to watch the Together webinars on mentoring to get more of an idea of how they can make a positive impact on the lives of those under their mentorship.

Statistics show that among our young people, one in three will grow up without a mentor. This number clearly indicates the importance of mentorship on a national scale, as having a mentor undoubtedly has a positive impact on the family and life of the young person, as well as our communities as a whole.

Founded in 2002 by The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR) and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, National Mentoring Month highlights numerous programs, activities, and opportunities to thank those who are already participating, as well as for those interested in becoming involved by sharing their skills, knowledge and guidance.

Whether you’re comfortable participating by offering your time and/or a donation, MENTOR’S programs offer something for everyone! As many mentors have shared, the rewards they have gained by working with our young people have been substantial. Sharing their skills to help our young people learn and grow has been meaningful and enriching not only for their own life, but for the mentees as well!
