My husband, Will Arntz, who created, What the Bleep Do We Know!? got the brave idea to compile my poetic writings and mystical experiences with the photos of award‑winning photographer, Endre Balogh, into a coffee table size gift book. He wanted anyone on any page reading to have a journey of the divine. When Will came to me with his idea, I said, “Great, let’s do it.” And then he said, “No, it’s not let’s do it, it’s I’m doing it,” and he actually would not let me see what he was doing until he chose the passages and photos – putting them together to create a storyline like a movie. Then I jumped in to edit.
Because Will made What the Bleep, I trusted his insight and artistic acumen. Will chose my poem, In The Honey Jars, as the backbone of the Surprise story. Together with Endre’s photos, Will brought life to my writings in ways that were well, a surprise to me! The title The (Not So) Little Book of Surprises was Will’s insight that transformation always comes in the form of a surprise.
You see we can study, worship, have a practice, but when those moments of awakening of awareness, the “aha”–when that happens, it is always a surprise. Awakening comes in surprise moments.
Since I was young, I have been visited by angels, saints and different illuminated beings. They speak to me, and I’ve seen them with my own eyes. The light beings feel strongly that they want their voices heard, they want to bring hope. They want to share a map for all of us to get through the changing times with as much grace as possible. This map is inside of us. The (Not So) Little Book of Surprises is a guide to one’s inner map of wisdom and awakening.
Irradiance is the ability to radiate an energy that is felt and/or experienced into a larger context. When angels, light beings, God speaks to me, I feel a palatable presence, like a weighted garment falling over my shoulders – my body changes. I go into a state of bliss and ecstasy, Irradiance, when I hear their voices. I work hard to clear my mind so that I hear their teaching accurately. I make sure that the light beings I hear are who they say they are. I then speak what they tell me, or I write it down. Surprises is a combination of my own wisdom, and what I’ve learned from God and the light beings. Surprises was born from my poetic understanding of the greater reality perspective in our human experience.
Surprises brings into play our life experience with the divine realms. I say to people if Surprises rings true for you, great. If not, that’s okay too. The Book of Surprises is like rock‑and‑roll. You get the most when you enjoy the ride. Be in the magic, the insight, the inspiration – Surprises is a melody of spirit and beauty in the mystical. This is how we overcome our grief and our loss in an uncertain world.
People have said that Surprises is a “children’s book” for adults because of the nature photos and stellar images. I agree with this because children are still filled with wonder and excitement at living. We each are longing to connect to the inner state of wonder and enthusiasm for life. Surprises addresses this. Children today are aware, awake, and they’re looking to be validated for their knowledge. They have an ability to feel and sense the natural world that is outside of the intellectual two-dimensional processing. These kids know – and they’re being born by the millions – they have come to help us heal our world. They come in a vibration of love. Indigo children, crystal children, all children, are aware and sensitive. They need different kinds of schools, they need to be honored for what they see and know. They need to be shown that we welcome them and that we’re grateful that they’re here. Surprises validates this – it’s a family book to sit around and read together.
I’m ecstatic with how The (Not So) Little Book of Surprises turned out. I love reading it myself. When I read it I have a freshly new spiritual experience. I actually learn, even though it comes from “my work.” I experience something, I see something deeper every time. I’ve been asked, “Why read this book?” I answer, because we are here as consciousness to experience the third dimension. And in that experience we are here to create the magic, the miracle and the beauty – the justice, the truth – of what it really means to be human. And that’s our journey, and it’s a bumpy ride. We meet obstacles, but that’s really the journey of our human soul. The (Not So) Little Book of Surprises was created for you to have an awesome experience.
