Unity’s 23rd Annual, World Day of Prayer will be observed with a formal prayer service on Thursday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m. at Unity of Livonia, 28660 Five Mile Rd., Livonia. Prayer Chaplains will conduct the service, and Rev. Eileen Patra will deliver the message. The service will be followed by a candlelight labyrinth walk.

Prayer request forms are available at the church, and will be held in prayer during the vigil. Prayer Chaplains will also be available for one-on-one personal prayer beginning at 5:00 p.m. on September 8. Names can also be submitted for prayer on-line at: www.worlddayofprayer.org

“World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God, each other, and the world,” said Rev. Eileen Patra of Unity of Livonia. “Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our community and in our individual lives.”

The theme this year is, “Discover the Power Within – Unleash Your Divine Potential.” Unity churches throughout the United States and around the world will be observing this sacred event. Silent Unity invites all people to pray with us from wherever they are, and as a symbol of their prayers, to light a virtual candle at: www.worlddayofprayer.org. The candles will be displayed as points of light on a global map.
