What’s Missing?

To be productive, achieve happiness, and feel secure, it’s essential to find balance in your life. Balance begins and ends with acknowledging and nurturing all aspects of who you are. That means consistently working on your connection to this physical world (and all that’s related to it) and your connection to the spiritual world.

While many people understand that Spirit is the energy that animates your physical body, it’s more than that. It also extends out away from you and is your connection to your Higher Self. It’s your link across the veil to your true home. By believing, at any moment in life, that the human experience is all there is, you unconsciously ignore and weaken the connection to your Higher Self. And when that happens, one can start to become too deeply entrenched in the physical world and its circumstances, moving into a fearful state of being.

Knowing the importance of remaining equally connected to both the energetic and the physical aspects of yourself is good, but consciously strengthening the connection to your Higher Self is essential. Many young adults, and even some who are approaching middle age, have either not been exposed to a Spiritual Community or have purposely avoided those groups due to past experiences with organized religion. I get it. Being raised and schooled in a religious atmosphere, I found myself questioning the rules associated with that organization for most of my life, and eventually, I decided to move in a different direction. As I got older, I began to realize the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who are more interested in promoting a world of love, acceptance, and a positive collective consciousness than following a list of rules and regulations that weren’t all-inclusive and all-accepting.

These days, more and more Spiritual Communities (aka churches) are releasing the rules and centering their focus on community service and fellowship. With increased access to online services and events, it’s become much easier to kind of “try before you buy” and see if it feels like a good fit. Then, once you feel comfortable, you can attempt an in-person visit.

Strengthening your connection to Spirit provides comfort in knowing that the creative power from which you came is always orchestrating every aspect of your life in a way that is for your highest and best. When you release the need to control every aspect of your life and begin to move with the flow of things, you are going from resistance to surrendering. To resist is to fear – fearing change, the future, and a loss of control. To surrender is to trust – trusting that life is only a part of your soul’s journey, and while you’re here, all is in divine order with divine purpose.

So, if you find yourself living in a state of fear and anxiety, you are more than likely in need of a stronger connection to the power from which you ultimately came from. Then, you can release the need to control every aspect of your life and begin seeing every life event as a beautiful opportunity to learn more about yourself and grow spiritually. Finding and connecting with your “tribe” is a great way to begin the process of fostering a deeper connection.
