Is Excess Weight Causing You Distress?

Many people have tried dieting to lose weight. If one diet doesn’t work, they often try something else. Even if they have lost weight from their diet, after a while it is likely that they stopped dieting, only to see the weight return. You may have seen TV shows where individuals who were greatly overweight have lost a tremendous amount of weight. It seems amazing that they have been able to take so much weight off. The problem is, and what they don’t tell you, is that invariably these people who were so successful at losing all this weight wind up putting it all back on, and sometimes even more than when they started.

It is apparent that for most people, diets do not lead to permanent weight loss. You may have heard of the “yo-yo dieter.” This person loses some weight, then puts it back on, and continues this cycle of losing and gaining, never really making any lasting changes.

According to recent statistics, over two-thirds of Americans are either obese or overweight. There are various problems associated with being overweight. People often do not feel good about themselves and have lower self-esteem. They often tend to isolate themselves. If they try to exercise, they may find it too painful or physically uncomfortable to sustain such a program. In addition to these issues, there are many health problems associated with being overweight.

For example, excess weight can result in Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes, certain types of cancer, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, liver disease, kidney disease, and pregnancy problems for both the mother and the child.

Since dieting seems not to be very effective, what is a person to do? There are a great many reasons why people are overweight. Some people eat for comfort or stress reduction; some overeat when socializing with friends or family. Some have been told to “clean their plate” when growing up, and feel a need to eat everything they are served. Other people literally want to have a bigger presence. Some believe being overweight protects them. And there are those who just eat out of boredom or loneliness. As you can see, this is a complex, multifaceted problem.

Since the cause of excess weight is different for so many people, it is essential to get to the root of the problem. One excellent way to determine the underlying cause of the excess weight is with the use of hypnosis. Your subconscious mind knows the reason you are overeating, and since hypnosis deals with the subconscious, once you are in a hypnotic state, you can more easily get to the source of the problem. You can then find healthier ways to get your needs met.

Hypnosis is very effective in eliminating many unwanted habits and forming new and much healthier ones. By the same token, it is also very beneficial for eliminating smoking, starting an exercise program, dealing with phobias, as well as addressing anxiety, stress and lack of self-esteem.

If you are struggling with excessive weight or any other unwanted habits, why not give hypnosis a try. Think how much money you have spent on diet plans. A few hypnosis sessions can save you a great deal of money in the long run.
