Pathways to Transformation

I was reading an article that stated, “One of the most enduring metaphors for the spiritual path is the transformation of the lowly caterpillar into a butterfly. Out of its own substance, the ground-hugging grub weaves the medium for its metamorphosis—the chrysalis within which it evolves into a beautiful creature with wings. The human being undergoes an equally dramatic transformation, unfolding the path to liberation from within the depths of the soul and emerging, after a great struggle, as an expression of divinity in the world.” That article captured my attention and held me as I reflected on the world divided by opposing views, racial and cultural issues. As a society, we are engulfed in a great inner transformation like the caterpillar seeking to find hope and refuge crying out for change. The vibrational energies within the world at this time, with unrest and the polarization of thought and views, are bringing forth an inner spiritual transformation.

I was once told that we are all here for a reason and a purpose which leads us to spiritual transformation; we may not know it in the beginning and some of us may search all of our lives to find it. What I do believe is that each of us must go within to discover the path we must take. The path we choose will be forged in our heart and soul. It will be called out in our dreams. Individuals are being transformed for the world to address the current issues of today. So in the midst of all the confusion in the world, with international drama and discourse, people are waking to an inner calling, a Damascus experience; an innate desire to bring peace and harmony to the world.

This innate desire to discover is so unique to each individual that they are called to their own pathway to transformation; for some, it is found in meditation and prayers, in others it may be through music and the arts, or the scientific study of the universe, mind, and body. And in each case, it will be the experience and the journey toward the encounter of being transformed.

Joel Goldsmith described it this way…”The heart and soul of the mystical life is an inner experience and no matter what mode method is used, that experience is possible if the basic motive is to discover the truth.” According to Alice A. Bailey,

“The whole aim of the present crisis is to shift the focus of human awareness out of the form and the material aspect of living into the consciousness of the Soul.”

What we must remember is that each of us must go within and open ourselves up to the divine and allow Spirit to speak to us, to guide us to our inner sacred path. That place within us where transformation begins, where the metamorphosis takes over and the Christ presence arises from within. Where that still and quiet voice speaks to us and says, “YOU ARE MY BELOVED.”

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

And finally, remember the words of Jimi Hendrix:

“When the power of love overcomes the love for power, the world will know peace.”
