Who Are You Really?

Well, we know who we are really – souls having an experience in a human body. But how do you live through that body? Is your behavior that of a loving and accepting soul being the Light and helping others? If not, it might be time to look inside, starting with how you talk to yourself.

Yes, we all talk to ourselves, and there is plenty of evidence to prove it. So, is what you say to yourself loving or hating, accepting or judging, learning or stagnating?

We are sponges, taking in everything we hear and see as children. We are literally programmed starting from the womb, and now research shows that we can be genetically programmed with our thinking. So, our ancestors’ experiences and thought patterns can affect us, too. We are imprinted and programmed with our genetic code and all the input from our environment, which usually reinforces the genetic programming.

It’s not necessarily on purpose, especially concerning our parents. Most parents want to be the best parents possible and keep you safe from the hurtful world. Some people, like teachers, think it is their responsibility to share their inner and societal programs with us. Mostly, I think, to again keep us safe by getting us to fit in or making us a mini them—or just to make things easier for them.

As we grow physically, we often just keep duplicating and reprogramming the same stuff we were taught, becoming our own subconscious programmers, never realizing the cage we are putting ourselves in. We forget who we really are and develop roles that we can play to feel safe and fit in with our tribe.

The programs that become most important are often the ones with the deepest roots, especially those formed from trauma and strong emotions. We begin to own these thoughts, this self-talk, even if we don’t like them and would never say them to someone else. Our self-talk becomes a programmed routine repeated over and over, with the strongest and most repeated and emotionally based becoming the most deeply rooted and controlling, separating us from our truest self, our very soul/higher self.

What are some of the most common thoughts that hold you back?

Every time we repeat a thought, empowering or disempowering us, it gets stronger and stronger, more deeply rooted, and sometimes we even get stuck in it. We start to fall asleep and sleepwalk through life, experiencing and interacting with life through these programs; it’s like being in the Matrix.

Most of the thoughts are often negative, and we have thousands of thoughts we aren’t even aware of each day. They usually center around the idea that we’re not good enough in some way and put us down. “I’m not creative (lovable, good enough, supported, capable, safe to be me, worthy, important…).” “Nobody likes me.” “I never have enough time.” “What if I do it wrong.” “I’m stupid.” “Why does this always happen to me?”

Are those thoughts you want running around in your mind creating havoc like a runaway train controlling your life? You can change your life by discovering and changing your thoughts. What are your thoughts on reading this? One good way to recognize your thoughts is by journaling. Just listen to that negative self-talk that started up!

You can choose to be vigilant and identify your negative self-talk and beliefs. If you would like help, contact me for an appointment. Let me help you through the jungle of your own programming so you can have the life of your dreams, not others’ nightmares.
