FARMINGTON, Mich. – VegMichigan’s seventh annual Fall VegFest is on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Riley Park in historic downtown Farmington.
Everyone is invited to attend this family-friendly event, whether you are completely new to plant-based eating or have been eating a plant-rich diet for many years. We will be hosting some of the best plant-based food that Michigan has to offer in one place. There will be more than 30 featured vendors, including restaurants, food trucks, caterers, specialty items, sustainable shopping, and nonprofits. Attendees are encouraged to visit the VegMichigan table to learn about the benefits of plant-based eating for health, ethics, and the environment.
New this year, there will be a presentation, Healthy Eating, at the Farmington Civic Theatre from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. by Marc and Kim Ramirez, who will tell their story of how Marc, a former University of Michigan football player, regained his health through dietary changes, followed by a testimony from Oliver Bosnjakovski, who began eating plant-based to support his recovery from a heart attack.
Bodhi Yoga is offering a free class as a pre-festival activity at 10 a.m. (register here). Local recording artists perform mostly original, acoustic-based music throughout the day. There will be two dance performances from Tap Dance Detroit. The Kid Zone is also back, with fun activities for children.
“We invite you to come to this festival with your whole family. Enjoy a beautiful day at this great location, taste some delicious food, enjoy the entertainment, and find out why so many people are incorporating more plant-based meals into their lifestyle,” said VegMichigan President Tom Progar.
This year’s Fall VegFest is presented by Shimmy Shack, a plant-based and gluten-free food truck. Chive, a mainstay for delicious plant-based food in downtown Farmington, also sponsors the event.
