When things set us off in a bad way, we tend to immediately blame whatever or whoever is in our line of fire. It’s just so much easier to pass blame than it is to take responsibility for our reactions. But, when we do that, we’re missing out on a fantastic opportunity to identify and release the deeply held insecurities and negative beliefs that are holding us back from experiencing true joy in life. You see, two wonderful things can happen when you take responsibility for your emotions and dive deep to determine why certain people and events trigger you in uncomfortable ways.
First, when you identify the past experiences and beliefs that have caused those painful responses to surface, you begin a journey of self-awareness. This allows you to work through and release them, and as a result, you are no longer triggered by similar situations in the future.
Second, through this awareness, you can begin to feel empowered and capable of dealing with any situation. You will then realize that it’s never about what’s happening around you but always about how you respond and react to it. While it’s definitely easier to simply pass the blame, it’s much more empowering to maintain your state of peace and not surrender your happiness to things outside of your control.
We live in a world that chooses to believe that happiness and security are predicated on sources outside of us. If that’s true, we are no different from a feather drifting through the air at the whim of the wind, with no control over its destination. That’s a pretty scary thought. Unfortunately, that’s the way that most people move through life, which can lead them to feel a loss of control in their lives.
Wouldn’t you like to be able to move through life with a calmer disposition and reduce or eliminate those times that spark unwanted emotional responses? Wouldn’t it be great to feel comfortable and in control regardless of who you’re around and what’s happening? It all starts with an elevated level of self-awareness. Ask yourself, “What is this person or situation triggering within me that’s causing these unwanted feelings?” The answers can come quickly or over time, but they all help us evolve and grow as loving, peaceful beings.
Sometimes things held deeply in the subconscious mind can cause those unwanted emotions to surface. In those instances, a properly trained and experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist can help you to release and overwrite the Subconscious beliefs that are holding you back.
