To understand the Merkaba requires some knowledge of the energy field surrounding and flowing through the human body. Prana, Chi, or life force is prevalent throughout the universe. Prana enters the body through the Crown Chakra at the top of the head. (This is the reason there is a hole in the top of the head in an unborn embryo). As the energy enters, it flows through the center of the body, as through a tube, and is distributed to the main energy centers or Chakras (spinning Wheels). The Chakras distribute the energy through meridians to every cell of our body. As a result, we have an energy field that surrounds our bodies called the ‘aura’. The aura is egg shaped and is influenced by our thoughts and emotions.
What does Merkaba mean? “Mer” means light. This refers to two counter-rotating fields of light which will activate and spin as the result of using an ancient Prana breathing meditation technique. “Ka” means individual spirit or consciousness, and “Ba” means physical body and our own unique representation of reality. Therefore, Merkaba, through powerful light activation, helps bring spirit consciousness into our physical bodies and everyday reality.
The Prana field is the star tetrahedron (3 sided pyramids). The Merkaba is formed by two interlocking tetrahedrons forming a star tetrahedron or a three dimensional Star of David. The physical body is in the center, completely surrounded by the Merkaba field, formed by the two interlocking tetrahedrons. When they are activated through a specific meditation technique, the top and bottom ones spin in opposing directions, thus creating an expansive energy field or Merkaba which aligns spirit consciousness with the physical body.
The Merkaba balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Our sensitivities and mental abilities are enhanced and expanded. It connects us with our higher self, enabling us to feel love unconditionally, thus heightening our spiritual growth. It activates and clarifies the light body, restores the memory of the infinite possibility of our being, and is healing and protective. The Merkaba can be programmed to support and assist us. It is limited only by our beliefs, thoughts and attitudes.
